                          SOLD
A beautiful, large, doubly terminated translucent to transparent Tourmaline crystal with five color zones from blue to pink to green along it's length. The bottom termination is blue, which makes this a rare blue cap. A nice touch of Lepidolite crystals along the sides. Very reasonably priced for such a quality specimen.
Click here for information on Elbaite.
Elbaite is a gemstone, reckoned to be one of the most desirable of the Tourmaline family because of the variety and depth of its colours and quality of the crystals. Originally discovered on the Island of Elba, Italy in 1913 it has since been found in many parts of the world. In 1994 a major site was discovered in Canada, at O'Grady Lakes in the Yukon.

Elbaite is a sodium, lithium, aluminium borosilicate, formula Na(LiAl)3Al6Si6O18(BO3)3(OH)4

From the exciting new find at Mapimi ! A very impressive Wulfenite specimen with butterscotch colored crystals to 1 cm in size growing through a layer of dark green to brown Mimetite on matrix. Virtually all crystals are pristine.
Beautiful large plate of intergrown Calcite rhombs with superb glassy luster - all included by tiny balls of bright green Duftite - yielding wonderful green coloring that suffuses throughout the specimen. The specimen is in excellent condition.
Stunning Barite specimen consisting of ornate, flower-like formations of tabular Barite crystals, with a nice luster and grayish-white color, on a matrix of massive Barite and Sulfur.
A very good large specimen of dozens of undamaged yellow to amber colored, translucent to near transparent prismatic Calcite crystals (to 3.6 cm)
on matrix with minor Chalcopyrite.
Lovely specimen of deep blue Azurite Rosettes on both sides.
Opposite Side
Super sparkling thin, wavy plate of interconnected glass clear crystals of Quartz and Apophyllite. These plates are great backgrounds for other specimens, such as the Azurite Rosettes (G7097) to the right.
Large golden Calcite rhomb coated with sparkling quartz. Looks like a big sugar cube sitting on a Quartz coated matrix.
Very interesting unusual pseudomorph of Quartz which has replaced a complex cluster of Anhydrite crystals.

The name Anhydrite was given by A. G. Werner in 1804, because of the absence of water of crystallization, as contrasted with the presence of water in gypsum.
Fine cluster of dark Stibnite crystals with nice metallic luster from Romania, which has produced the best Stibnites. Very reasonably priced.
Stunning  formation of lustrous gemmy Calcite crystals from a find in China last year.
Gorgeous cluster of lustrous pastel green, striated lengthwise, double terminated Fluorapophyllite crystals with some minor white Stilbites on the surface. Looks even better in person and is an outstanding display specimen.
Large specimen with dozens of embedded brassy Pyrrhotite
crystals. The name is derived from Greek pyrrhos, flame-colored.

A beautiful, gemmy, clear triangular shaped Beryl var. Aquamarine crystal elegantly perched on a matrix of silvery Muscovite.
Numerous lustrous dark red hexagonal Vanadinite crystals form a dense diagonal path across this specimen.
Dark butterscotch colored Stilbite crystals densely blanket this pretty specimen from New Jersey !
Gemmy silvery tinted Cerussite crystals with contrasting snow white clusters of bladed Barite adorn this unusually rich specimen.

Cerussite (also known as lead carbonate or white lead ore) is a mineral consisting of lead carbonate (PbCO3), and an important ore of lead. The name is from the Latin cerussa, white lead.
Short bipyramidal to blocky shaped yellow Wulfenite crystals dispersed over velvety green microcrystals of green Mimetite.

Wulfenite is named for Franz Xavier von Wulfen (1728-1805), an Austrian mineralogist.

Fan-shaped sprays of delicate transparent crystals of Hemimorphite with great brilliance and fine terminations - with underlying yellow greenish Mimetite crystals on a Limonite matrix.
Silvery balls of Pyrite on white Quartz from a new find in China.
A lustrous Stilbite bowtie with light salmon colored center and creamy white periphery elegantly sitting
at the center of a Stilbite studded strip of fine white Quartz.
Nice plate of green Heulandite crystals.
Heulandite gets its name in honor of John Henry Heuland, a British mineral collector and dealer.
This specimen is from an exciting new find at a rediscovered old location in Dona Ana County, New Mexico. Though not generally known for great aesthetic quality - these new specimens (I have more) are an exception. This one stands out with it's gleaming bundles of crystals with fine silky luster.

The name Pyrite is derived from the Greek πυρίτης (puritēs), “of fire” or "in fire”, from πύρ (pur), “fire”. This name is likely due to the sparks that result when pyrite is struck against steel or flint. This property made pyrite popular for use in early firearms such as the wheellock (From wikipedia, the free encyclopedia).

Vanadinite is mineral belonging to the apatite group of phosphates, with the chemical formula Pb5(VO4)3Cl. It is one of the main industrial ores of the metal vanadium and a minor source of lead. A dense, brittle mineral, it is usually found in the form of red hexagonal crystals. It is an uncommon mineral, formed by the oxidation of lead ore deposits such as galena. First discovered in 1801 in Mexico by the Spanish mineralogist Andrés Manuel del Río in 1801 (From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia).
