Delicate clusters of Natrolite needles safely nestled in a vug.
The Mumbai Quarries have been closed for over 12 years. Recently, however, a small section of the Quarry was exposed for carrying out some house building activity, which enabled the recovery of this nice specimen.
The first recorded find of Dioptase was in the Altyn-Tyube dioptase deposit and initially thought might be an Emerald deposit, but found on analysis to be a new mineral species. This is a very good example of Dioptase from the location.

A large, 6.4 cm, sharp, rhombic Calcite crystal with a beautiful orange color (caused by iron oxide coating) nestled in a crystal lined vug of basalt. The Calcite is stunning and rarely does one see Calcites with this kind of color from India. No damage, but one tiny natural contact near area where the Calcite was touching the basalt layer that was removed to reveal the crystal.
