"Hemimorphite, is a sorosilicate mineral which has been mined from days of old from the upper parts of zinc and lead ores, chiefly associated with smithsonite. It was often assumed to be the same mineral and both were classed under the same name of calamine. In the second half of the 18th century it was discovered that there were two different minerals under the heading of calamine - a zinc carbonate and a zinc silicate, which often closely resembled each other.
The silicate was the more rare of the two, and was named hemimorphite because of the hemimorph development of its crystals. "  - From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (Click Here).

Mimetite, whose name derives from the Greek mimethes, meaning "imitator", is an arsenate mineral which forms as a secondary mineral in lead deposits, usually by the oxidation of galena and arsenopyrite. The name is a reference to mimetite's resemblance to the mineral pyromorphite. This resemblance is not coincidental, as mimetite forms a mineral series with pyromorphite (Pb5(PO4)3Cl) and with vanadinite (Pb5(VO4)3Cl). The most notable occurrences are Mapimi, Durango, Mexico and Tsumeb, Namibia (From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia).

Tarnobrzeg is a town in south-eastern Poland, on the east bank of the river Vistula, with 51,300 inhabitants (2001). Situated in the Subcarpathian Voivodship (Polish: Województwo Podkarpackie) since 1999, it had previously been the capital of Tarnobrzeg Voivodship (1975-1998). The city was a major center for the mining and processing of sulphur and sulphuric acid. However, its mines have since closed having been deemed uneconomic. The mine in Piaseczno was closed first, followed by the Machów mine (after 40 years of working — it had been the biggest open-cast sulphur mine in Europe), and finally the Jeziórko mine in the 1990s.

Since the 1980s, the land in the mining areas has gradually been reclaimed. The Machów mine has been filled with water to form a reservoir used for recreation, and the same is happening with the Jeziórko mine — it is being slowly filled from the nearby Vistula river (From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia).

Very, very rare Demantoid Garnets from a find in Afghanistan. This plate has dozens of gemmy, lustrous, light grass green Demantoids to about 0.6 cm. Get this great specimen, while you can, as you want see them very often.

Demantoid is the green gemstone variety of the mineral andradite, a member of the garnet family of minerals. Andradite is a calcium- and iron-rich garnet, and is a distinct mineral species from the aluminium- and iron-rich reddish almandite garnets typically seen in jewelry stores. It is the most expensive and rare of garnet gemstones, with fine specimens commanding prices of thousands of dollars per carat (thousands per gram). The chemical formula is Ca3Fe2(SiO4)3 with chromium substitution as the cause of the demantoid green color. Ferric iron is the cause of the yellow in the stone.

It is sometimes referred to by the misleading name "Uralian emerald"

Great plate of lustrous Calcite crystals with beautiful pyramidal terminations and phantoms inside from a previous generation of growth. These crystals fluoresce nicely. A few minor contacts are not significant considering size of specimen. Apparently, the mining of these in China has finished and they are no longer easily found on the market.
